Maestra Vera Volchansky, praised for her “impeccable taste,” has conducted in Europe, Asia, Mexico, and the United States. Her recent engagements include appearances with Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, State Sinfonietta Vidin, Moravian Philharmonic, Hradec Králové Philharmonic, and the Győr Philharmonic in Hungary.
Among her notable achievements are a sold-out performance with Grammy Award–winning organist Paul Jacobs, and a concert performed at the Morelia International Organ Festival in Mexico. She has led performances of Lucia di Lammermoor with Vocal Productions NYC and created an original narrated production of The Soldier’s Tale. She also made history as the first female conductor invited to lead the Karaganda Symphony Orchestra in Kazakhstan. Earlier in her career, she was named a Conducting Fellow at the Aspen Music Festival and was a finalist for the American Prize in Conducting.
A Fulbright Award recipient, Ms. Volchansky studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, focusing on 20th-century avant-garde music and conducting psychology based on the theories of György Erzsémsky. More
