COMPREHENSIVE RECORDING PACKAGES IN THE PREMIER CLASSICAL MUSIC DESTINATION CITIES OF LVIV, PRAGUE AND LONDON

The multiple award-winning conductor Theodore Kuchar is the most recorded conductor of his generation and appears on over 130 compact discs for the Naxos, Brilliant Classics, Ondine, Marco Polo and Toccata Classics labels. He has served as the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of two of Europe’s leading orchestras, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine and the Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra (formerly the Czech Radio Orchestra) while also serving as the Principal Conductor of the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra and Slovak Sinfonietta. In the 2011-12 season he commenced his tenure as the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Venezuela and prior to that served as the Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra in Brisbane, Australia. He presently serves as the Principal Guest Conductor of the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine. In the United States, he has served as the Music Director
and Principal Conductor of the Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra (2001-2017), the Reno Chamber Orchestra (2002-2017) and Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra (1996-2006).

Dohnanyi is a celebrated podium and recording artist from one of the oldest musical families in history. He is credited with numerous awards and distinctions including Russia's prestigious 2018 Golden Mask Award for best conductor in opera. Former appointments include principal conductor of the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, artistic director of the opera of the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, music director of the National Theatre in Prague and regular conductor the Bratislava Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has worked with the English Chamber Orchestra, English National Opera and London Mozart Players and regularly appears with Opera Leeds, Slovak Philharmonic, Nippon Symphony, Czech National Symphony Orchestra and Slovak Sinfonietta Orchestra.

Maestro Nowak's astonishing interpretations compel and energize his musicians and audiences. Currently principal associate conductor of the Royal Philharmonic his career was launched immediately and internationally after winning first prize at the Ernest Ansermet Conducting Competition in Geneva. From there, his studies and fellowships at Tanglewood and the likes of Bernstein, Leinsdorf and Ozawa led to assisting Kurt Masur with the NY Philharmonic. Since then, his numerous appearances with major symphonies including Montreal, Vancouver, Baltimore, Cincinnati and London have been complemented with impressive operatic productions including rave reviews of a co-production of Andrea Chenier with the Polish National Opera and Placido Domingo and the National Opera in Washington. Notable soloists performing alongside maestro Nowak include Krystian Zimerman, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Nigel Kennedy, Pinchas Zukerman, Mstislav Rostropovich, Kathleen Battle and Marilyn Horne.

As if the lure of collaborating with internationally acclaimed conductors and orchestras weren't enough, then surely the divine attraction of culture, classical music and art representative of these regions will encourage a second thought. Lviv is a medieval city, one of the great cultural centers of eastern Europe, where music has always occupied the center and spirit of its existence. The path to the establishment of a secular concert life in the multinational Lviv went through various stages and took different forms, starting from the guild of urban trumpeters and the guild of musicians, which united Italian, Serbian and Jewish
chapels in the 15th and 16th centuries. These artistic associations served as the basis for the creation of permanent professional musical ensembles and institutions that exist to the present day. Prague's adoration of Mozart in addition to stunning concert halls boasting his premiere of Don Giovanni at the Estates Theatre will inspire! Modern day musicians will appreciate the treasured Smetana Hall, principal performance venue of the Czech National Symphony and the most influential hall of the Municipal House. A short distance away, London's abundance of magnificent landmarks and attractions have inspired composers throughout the centuries. Handel's "Water Music" for King George I on the River Thames, Haydn's London Symphonies and Mozart's London Sketchbook are several examples. Cadogan Hall, the resident hall of the Royal Philharmonic is a preferred destination unto it's own and enjoys a top spot as one of London's leading venues for it's luxurious surroundings and stellar acoustics.
