David Brill

ABOUT

David Brill was born in North Kansas City, Missouri into a musical family. His father is an American commissioned classical music composer, and his mother is a naturalized American citizen who immigrated to the United States from China, and a professional classical violinist. David began his violin studies at the age of three years old with his mother, as well as piano and music theory at the age of five with his father. He has studied violin with Lev Gurevich, Alvaro and Ruta Kroumovitch-Gomez, Mati Braun, Joseph Silverstein, Miguel Cardenas, Hsin Lin Tsai, Rimma Bergeron-Langlois, Francesca Dego, Kimberly Fisher, Elmar Oliveira, Carol Cole, and violinist and Heifetz protégé, Rudolf Koelman. His current teacher is Ben Sayevich. David also participated in master classes with Joshua Bell, Rachel Barton Pine, Leon Fleisher, Linda Cerone, Ilya Kaler, and with members of the Penderecki Quartet.


At the age of six, David joined the Prelude Orchestra of the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra (FSYO), becoming the youngest player ever admitted to the FSYO at that time. Two years later, he became concertmaster. At the age of ten, he was admitted to the Philharmonia Orchestra of the FSYO. The following year, he became concertmaster for the Philharmonia Orchestra.


At the age of nine, David gave his first public recital. At the age of 14, he was admitted as the youngest member of the professional Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. In November of 2012, David played his first concert with them, which featured pianist Yefim Bronfman. More
