Carme Fernández Vidal (1970). Composer. She holds a PhD from the Universitat de les Illes Balears (University of the Balearic Islands) with Extraordinary Doctorate Award. She holds Advanced Degrees in Composition, Piano, Music Theory, and Pedagogy, which endorse a solid academic background to develop her creative and teaching activity.

Her music has been requested by prestigious institutions as Fundación SGAE, Asociación Española de Orquestas Sinfónicas (AEOS), Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España (OCNE), Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical (CNDM), Fundación Internacional para la Difusión de las Artes y Humanidades (FIDAH), Fundación “Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears”, Fundación Baluarte-Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra, Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, Museo Guggenheim de Bilbao, Instituto Cervantes de París and the University of Florida, among many others.

Her catalog includes chamber works with a wide range of instrumental formations, symphonic and vocal works, as well as a significant number of solo compositions.
