Arturo Rodríguez

ABOUT

Mexican born composer, conductor and pianist Arturo Rodríguez has dedicated his musical career to the creation of symphonic works since the Dallas Symphony premiere of his Mosaico Mexicano in the year 2000. His works have been performed and recorded all around the world by ensembles like Philharmonia Orchestra and his works have been heard in concert halls such as Carnegie Hall. 


Winner of México’s Mozart Medal in 1996, he has also been active as a composer for films, TV and multimedia composing, orchestrating and conducting music for movies like The Mistress (2021), The Maid’s Room (2013), Cuando las Cosas Suceden (2007) and more than 1,200 minutes of original music for the Cartoon Network animated series Victor and Valentino. In Hollywood he has worked as conductor for major film scores like Furious7 and It Chapter 2, and has orchestrated for films such as Lights Out and the Oscar winning documentary Free Solo. His Noche de Posadas for narrator, choir and orchestra, commissioned by Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops was premiered in their Holiday Pops season in 2022 and his latest commission from the same ensamble, Suite de Muertos, was premiered on November 1st 2024.


He recently worked as orchestrator and conductor for Francis Ford Coppola’s latest film Megalopolis and was the orchestra conductor for the latest Hollywood blockbuster Twisters. 


In the Fall of 2024 Arturo presented a full symphonic concert of his works in his hometown of Monterrey, México where he premiered several works including his third piano concerto. He was the conductor and the soloist. Also in the fall of 2024 he completed his new film score for the Mexican film “El Desaire”.


In the world of videogames he has orchestrated and conducted for projects like Assasin’s Creed IV: Black Flag - Freedom Cry; Fortnite (2017) and Remember Me. He was also an orchestrator for Pinar Toprak’s new musical theme for Epcot Center in Walt Disney World.


As a conductor he has worked on recording sessions with orchestras like Philharmonia Orchestra, The Slovak National Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Scoring Orchestra, Budapest Art Orchestra, The Brussels Philharmonic, The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and is a frequent guest conductor in his home country with orchestras like Orquesta Sinfónica de San Luis Potosí, Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa, Orquesta Sinfónica UANL, Orquesta Sinaloa de las Artes.
