Modern Piano, Human Landscapes
Contemporary Piano in Living Colour
Ann Tayler is an international contemporary classical pianist and composer whose work is defined by original piano repertoire and carefully curated recital programs. Artistically connected with London’s contemporary music network, she is a modern neo-classical composer whose artistic direction places strong emphasis on classical aesthetics, formal structure, and architectural clarity. Her recital program presents primarily her own compositions, reflecting a deep engagement with classical forms while extending them through expanded neoclassical harmonic language. While her works are informed by environmental imagination, drawing on ocean and landscape imagery, her creative approach remains grounded in the structural discipline and artistic principles of the classical tradition.
Ann began her musical journey at the age of four and was awarded First Prize in a regional Kawai Piano Competition during her childhood. Alongside piano, she trained as a violinist and performed in school and youth orchestras from elementary school through university, touring across Taiwan. These formative ensemble experiences continue to inform her sense of musical dialogue, pacing, and architectural line, qualities that shape both her performance approach and her compositional craft.
