FRANCESCA TORELLI  - also available for solo engagements
Francesca Torelli was born in Reggio Emilia, Italy. After earning a degree in lute with the highest marks at the Conservatory of Verona under the guidance of Orlando Cristoforetti, she studied with Nigel North at the London Guildhall School of Music, and Renaissance and Baroque singing with Auriol Kimber. 

Francesca plays all the instruments of the lute family in her recordings and performances: renaissance lute, archlute, theorbo, baroque lute, baroque guitar. She has participated as a soloist in numerous festivals in Europe, South America and Australia. Her concert activities feature repertoires for voice and lute, as well as solo repertoire and basso continuo. She has been performing as a director of early music ensembles since 2000. Francesca is the founder and director of the ensemble Scintille di musica, and they recorded a CD for the Futuro antico series on EMI: Mantova, la musica alla corte dei Gonzaga, featuring the voice of Angelo Branduardi. Since 2007 five more CDs of the same series were published, with Francesca Torelli as a director-lutenist. These recordings about Sixteenth and Seventeenth century Italian music obtained great public consense.

LIA SERAFINI
Lia Serafini, soprano, gained a diploma in piano at the Conservatory of Vicenza, and has since 1986 dedicated herself to the study of song under Malcolm King e Marie Térèse Boiton Rivoli, specialising in the baroque and chamber repertory, and now her expressive and agile voice is an appreciate reference-point for the Baroque performances. 

Her concert activities are flanked by her work also in the theatre; she has been involved in performances of a number of operas from the repertory of the 17th and 18th centuries, such as C. Monteverdi's L'Orfeo, Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, Galuppi's Il mondo alla roversa (which CD live recording has obtein the Premio internazionale A.Vivaldi Fondazione Cini award), Peri's Euridice and Mozart's IdomeneoMore
