Founded in 1977 as a chamber ensemble in Słupsk, Sinfonia Baltica officially became Polska Filharmonia “Sinfonia Baltica” im. Wojciecha Kilara in 2005. The orchestra is celebrated for its eclectic repertoire—from classical symphonic works to dynamic jazz and pop-infused performances—showcasing its versatility and artistic daring.
They maintain a robust presence across Europe, performing in concert halls such as the Alte Oper Frankfurt and Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and have toured extensively through Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, and the Benelux countries. Their collaborations with soloists and conductors like George Dalaras highlight their international appeal and collaborative spirit.
With 27 critically acclaimed recordings—including a Grammy-nominated Beatles symphony interpretation—their discography spans from Polish and American chamber music to cross-genre adaptations of Chopin, Gershwin, and Piazzolla. As a pillar of regional culture, Sinfonia Baltica is deeply committed to audience development, offering educational and family concerts, open rehearsals, and community outreach.
Their current season continues to celebrate classical masterpieces and contemporary works, demonstrating a fresh dedication to artistic excellence under the baton of Szymon Morus. Sinfonia Baltica stands as a cultural beacon in Pomerania—bridging heritage and innovation through the universal language of music.
