Sator Duo

ABOUT

SatorDuo, formed by the violinist Paolo Castellani and the guitarist Francesco Di Giandomenico, is specialized in contemporary music and tango. It is appreciated by critics and public for its “…energy, emotional charge and virtuosity…” (ILAMS, London) and it is internationally recognised as being “…one of the most exciting duos in Italy today...” (ICI, Chicago).

Winner of many competitions (among them, the International Competition “Le Note Sinfonie”, the National Competition “Riviera Etrusca”, the International Competition “Luigi Vitti”), SatorDuo has perfomed in Italy, Europe, Cina and in the USA, collaborating with important institutions such as Roosevelt University of Chicago, Uruguayan Embassy in Vatican, Tsinghua University in Beijing, IILAMS in Rome (Italian Spanish Latin American Institute), St. Mary Le Bow in London, University of Tuscia in Viterbo, Cuban Embassy in Italy, Fermi Lab in Chicago, Cedac in Sardinia, Harbin Concert Hall in Harbin and so on.

In 2014, SatorDuo performed a tango concert in honour of Pope Francesco, organized by Uruguayan Embassy, and it was the first time in the Vatican History. In 2015, the Duo played in some of the world’s major cities, including Chicago, London, Rome and Venice to promote its new album, entitled “SatorTango”, dedicated to the Tango of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. In the same year the Duo gave the world premiere of “Creation Rejoices” for guitar, violin and string orchestra by US composer Robert Hutmacher. 
In 2016 the label Hyperprism published the cd “Confessioni” dedicated to the music of the Italian composer Fernando Sulpizi.More
