Pedro Carneiro

ABOUT

Pedro began studying violin at the age of 13 with José Camarinha. At the age of 15, he toured Brazil, playing in cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Vitória, São Paulo, Belém, Brasília, and Recife, receiving an honorable mention from the San Paulo Conservatory of Music. From the age of 16 to 18 he worked with A. Gaio Lima (disciple of Henry Sherying) and took master classes with Zackar Bron (Madrid), Gerardo Ribeiro (United States), and Igor Oistrack (Belgium)


He was awarded in the Young Musicians competition in both categories, secondary and higher level, and also in the Portuguese Musical Youth competition.


At 18, he was invited to join the Classical Orchestra of Madeira (1996), continuing his violin studies with Yuri Kirichenko. During that year he played Max Bruch's G minor concerto solo with orchestra and Scottish Fantasy, receiving rave reviews and attracting the attention of the president of the government of the autonomous region of Madeira.


That same year, 1996, he won a government scholarship from the Autonomous Region of Madeira to continue his violin studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kiev with Aleksey Gorokhov (Yampolsky's disciple), having been unanimously accepted after playing for the chair of violin teachers. More
